Abstract

The systematic study of the design and its methods has had a rapid conceptual evolution since the middle of the last century. The visions have changed dramatically; some theorists have made conflicting statements after reflecting on the inconvenience of basing the design on rigid criteria and assess the need for flexibility and openness to stimulate creativity ability. These paradigm shifts have led to ask us: How design can have method if designer requires creativity and this is related to freedom, originality and uncertainty, while the method is associated with regulations, procedures and prevision?
