Fake grape as Green curtain in Guatemalan city buildings

The following article addresses the use that
has been given to the exotic plant commonly known as “Falsa Uva” (Fake/false Grape) in constructions (buildings) as an adhesive binder for floors or horizontal surface. This exotic plant has been incorporate as one of the tools that architects, painters, interior designers and garden designers dispose of. The technique of decoration architectural finishes for part of a whole building is called “Cortina Verde” (Green Curtain). The article summarizes the agronomic requirements, uses, applications, and benefits of exotic
plant in architecture. It also warms about
the possible problems the plant can cause
to architectural elements and users if used
indiscriminatedly. This is an exploratory
study, with in situ measures, that runs o
thorough investigation of the plant before
it just becomes a trend (fashion) that lacks
previous study.
