For centuries civilizations have had the need to create buildings for different uses depending on factors such as geography, topography, economy and society. Therefore, this article addresses the case of a building in the pre-Hispanic city of El Mirador, which is dated to the Late Classic period (600 - 800 AD); becoming one of the most inhabited cities in Mesoamerica. Through different investigations and documents we know that the art represented in the Mayan culture is exquisite for its ornamental richness, deriving between shapes, colors and stylistic details; Such is the case of the
ornamentation that very possibly formed part of the architecture of the building "Los
Rostros", which is located in the Casa del Coral group within the city of El Mirador.
The findings show remains of stucco adhered to the exterior walls of the building and forty heads of stucco modeled between fragmented and complete, which represent
deities, ancestors and supernatural personages. Its discovery is of great importance due to the lack of this type of art in the rest of the buildings that have so far been intervened and studied at the El Mirador archaeological site.
