The present article is a descriptive investigation whose objective is to evaluate the application of the case study as a tool in the didactic process for the teaching of the
architectural design and its application in research. Through documents analysis such
as presentations and didactic exercises on "analogous cases", the term used in the
Faculty of Architecture of USAC in reference to the case study method obtaining a
synthesis of the application of the method as a didactic element and a compilation of
its characteristics in order to have elements of judgment for a better application of it
both in research and as didactic experience in the discipline of architecture.
