Keywords:

Starting from a historiographical analysis of the hospitals in America and Europe of the XIX Century, it can be observed that practically all of them had gardens in their facilities, they are lost from the 20th century when it gives rise to buildings whose main objective is to reduce Risk of infection by adapting new technologies in its construction. But what is the role of a garden in the healing process of patients? Through several scientific studies it has been proven that being in contact with nature helps in the healing process. This is due to physiological reactions which positively influence the body to recover from physical and / or mental illnesses. So the role of a garden within hospitals becomes decisive. The goal is to analyze the potential of gardens, specifically gardens of sensations that stimulate the senses, as a viable and tangible option to create a Hospital-Garden, as they are a new alternative in the new design of hospitals where it is taken up the emotional dimension.
