AN APPROACH TO ROMANTICISM, AS A CULTURAL MOVEMENT AND ITS REPERCUSSIONS ON ARCHITECTURE

Abstract

The Romanticism was a very important in the modern Western world and that lasted until a few decades ago cultural movement. But their influence or expression in architectural creation have not been much studied. This article provides an explanation of the origins of the term, content and social roots of this cultural movement in general, its impact on the visual arts, the historiography and in particular on the nature of its architectural expressions.
