The collaboration of the artist and architect
honoris causa Luis Diaz Aldana, in buildings
of plastic integration movement has been
a singular issue that started since 1964 and
for whom the main reference was the Civic
Center of Guatemala city, built from 1954. It
is important to address the issue when considering the teacher Diaz has developed an outstanding work that deserves to be recognized for his collaboration with several firms of architects and an accumulation of twelve
works that have materialized with valuable
interventions. Thus being the artist’s contribution has been in the movement, in the past five decades. It was therefore imperative to explore the characteristics of the plastic work and cooperation in the design of several buildings and homes searched the union of the arts. Before
that it was necessary to clarify the concept of plastic integration. There are several contributions of Diaz, highlighting the diversity and handling techniques, materials, its themes and the use
of design concepts that combine creatively
contributing to the aesthetic value of
architectural objects.
