Describes the process that led to the presentation of the work “El Gukumatz” at the XI art biennial, Sao Paulo, Brasil, in 1971, where it obtained the Grand Latin-American prize “Francisco Matarrazo Sobrinho”, the reactions and perceptions of the author, and the participants to said event, as well as the subsequent impact of the work.
