Abstract

In 1972, the Congress for the Restructuring of the Faculty of Architecture, known by the acronym CRA, was held, which became a movement known by those acronyms and would develop during the rest of that decade. One of the main actors in the movement was the architect Gilberto Castañeda. The interview took place over several sessions. Initially, there was an approach during the presentation of a Forum on the Restructuring Congress of the Faculty of Architecture -CRA- at the College of Architects, which was held in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the congress. Then some written questions and answers and exchange of information by email and, two sessions from Mexico, through Zoom during August 2022. Finally, after the publication of the Book El Movimiento that transformed the Faculty of Architecture, CRA, Some adjustments were made at the request of the interviewee. The conversation focused on Castañeda's perceptions, experiences, documents and memories during the transformation process.

Es doctor en arquitectura candidato a doctor en Investigación Social. Docente de arquitectura y diseño gráfico por más de 40 años. Fue decano de la Facultad de Arquitectura y actualmente es investigador en la Dirección de Investigación de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la USAC.
