Abstract

In the process of the development of the doctoral thesis Plastic Integration in Modern Architecture of the Private Sector of
Guatemala City (1954-1976): a critical analysis of buildings by Jorge Mario López Pérez,4 it was established that the methodology to be adopted would be the qualitative, with support of the deductive and inductive methods. Some of the specific objectives were «Understand the concept of plastic integration of a part of the foreign field and its interpretation in Guatemala»5 and «Prepare the analysis of the general social, cultural, economic and political constraints that caused the integration plastic phenomenon in the modern architecture of the private sector of Guatemala City»,6 which demanded as one of the techniques of data collection, the interview.

    Jorge Mario López Pérez, se graduó de arquitecto por la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala USAC (1993); maestro en Diseño Arquitectónico (2006) y doctor en Arquitectura (2016) por la misma institución. Ha sido profesor titular desde 2002 en el Área de Diseño Arquitectónico; fue profesor en el programa de Maestría en Diseño Arquitectónico, de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la USAC
    Actualmente es miembro de la organización de Documentación y Conservación del Movimiento Moderno (DOCOMOMO) capítulo Guatemala y Gerente General de la empresa Desarrollos DJ S.A desde 2006.
